Skate session at the waterfront

So the weather here in Portland has actually been quite wonderful lately. We still get those days of rain, but last week the sun stayed shining for a couple days! I decided to take advantage of the great weather and get outside for a fun shoot!

I gathered up two of my friends, David and Josh, and headed to the Portland waterfront for a skate session.

For this shoot I focused more on getting fun portraits of these two rather than skate shots. I wanted to try and capture their personalities. I chose to convert all these images to black and white because I liked the look and feel of the images without color.

Leaves

A couple weeks ago while I was working a guest came up to me and gave me this leaf he had found outside the hotel. He told me how wonderful it would be if I could take a macro shot of the texture on the leaf.

This little leaf was the inspiration for my most recent photo project; Leaves.

All of these images were taken outside of the Phoenix Inn Suites in Vancouver. And I couldn't help but take pictures of the flowers that were blossoming as well!
